Water sports, hydrodynamics and Good Vibes!

FOIL CLUB

Welcome to FOIL CLUB: Your First Flight over the Water!

FOIL CLUB is a community for West Michigan students who love water sports and want to learn to glide over the water on foils!

Our goal is simple: have a blast in the water while learning the fundamentals of flight. We believe the best way to learn is to play, and we start everyone off with a focus on stability and success.

What is Foiling?

At FOIL CLUB, we embrace the stoke of going with the flow and flying across the water, but how does it all work?

Similar to surfing, there is a board to ride on, but foiling includes a mast (long shaft) that connects to a foil wing that looks like an airplane. This is where the magic happens!

As you learn to control a pumping motion, the hydrodynamics of the wing create lift and propel the rider up out of the water so the only thing in the water is the foil. It’s an amazing feeling and takes skill to master.

There are so many ways to foil like foil scooters (human powered), pump foiling, wing foiling, and surf/wake foiling. At Foil Club we’ll explore the basics and provide the opportunity to safely enjoy the sport on our custom made foil scooters built to make a safe rider for all students.
